“Snowy Owl” (2026)
The first time I saw a Snowy Owl was in the High Arctic on Ellesmere Island. I was hiking in a remote valley near Lake Hazen and when I took a small break near a pond I turned around and saw a Snowy Owl sitting on a rock staring at me. This painting is somewhat a reflection of that memory, except the dwarf shrubs that I placed in the top right corner of the painting, which do not grow that far in the North.
